Weekly Flight Guide

Summer schedule from April to October. Winter schedule from November to March.

Head straight to the Acropolis and enter the same way that people have done for over two thousand years: by foot up the hill but it is well worth it to see the imposing ancient white marble structures. See the Parthenon temple which is the pièce de résistance of these hilltop structures dating back to the 5th century BC. Discover more about this amazing UNESCO World Heritage site at the new Acropolis Museum where you see artefacts found on its slopes, learn more about the birth of democracy in Athens and look through its glass floor at the ruins of an Ancient Athenian neighbourhood.

A wander through Plaka, Athens’s oldest neighbourhood is a must, filled with brilliant restaurants, cafes and ouzeries giving you a great taste of Greece. Greeks love their coffee so join the locals for their afternoon coffee break or grab a shot of ouzo if you prefer something stronger. The area also has a number of great museums and galleries including the Museum of Greek Folk Musical Instruments and the Jewish Museum of Greece.

Shopping in the city is a favourite pastime here with both locals and tourists alike as there is so much variety here, from high street favourites to countless local artisans. Head to the Monastiraki flee market which is open every day, but if possible be sure to visit on a Sunday when lots of stalls pop up all over the area making it even more of an interesting unmissable Athens experience; and give your bargaining skills a practice.
